How to redeem a gift
Got a gift code or link? See how to create the account in your name, the deadline and what to do if something goes wrong.
Someone gave you an EXL Trade account. When you redeem it, the account is created in your name, with the plan and add-ons chosen by the giver, and you become the account holder.
- 1
Open the link or use the code
The link takes you straight to the gift. If you only have the code, go to Gifts, in the dashboard, under “Got a gift?”.
- 2
Log in or create your account
To redeem, you need an EXL registration with a confirmed e-mail.
- 3
Click Redeem
The account is created in your name and shows up in My Accounts, awaiting release.
- 4
Release
The release follows the same timeline as a purchase: usually right away, and within 72 business hours at most.
The redemption rules
- The gift can be redeemed within 6 months of payment confirmation. After that, it expires.
- The code is single use.
- The account counts towards your account limit. If you are at the limit, the gift stays valid until it expires: free up room and redeem it later.
- When you redeem, you agree to the Terms and to the rules in the gift's Rules Sheet.
If the link doesn't work
- Gift not found: check that the link or code is complete.
- Already redeemed, or the link no longer works: ask the giver for a new link.
- Expired: the redemption deadline has passed and the gift has expired.
Identity verification
As the account holder, you may need to verify your identity. Account and payout releases may depend on it.
