How to read the table
- Tick: the contract's smallest price move.
- Tick value: how much the result changes, per contract, with each tick.
- Point value: how much the result changes, per contract, with each full point of price movement.
- Commission per order: the cost of each executed order. It has its own article.
Mini and micro
- The micro is the smaller version of the same instrument: each point is worth less, and so is the risk per contract.
- For Max Size, 1 mini counts as 10 micros.
- Compare the mini and micro point values in the table before choosing your position size.
How to calculate the result
A trade's gross result is: points of movement × the contract's point value × number of contracts. Then the commissions on the executed orders come off.
Example
You buy two contracts of an instrument and sell ten points above your entry price. The gross result is ten points × that contract's point value in the table × two contracts. From that, the commissions on the two executed orders come off: the entry and the exit. What's left is the net result, which is what counts in the rules. If the price had dropped the same ten points, the account would lose the same amount, plus the commissions.
Point value is not a cost
The point value only calculates the result. The cost of trading is the commission per order. And the official figure for each trade is the platform's.
