Max Size: minis, micros and how to combine them
How many contracts the account can have open at the same time and how minis and micros add up within the limit.
Your plan's values
Max Size is the limit on contracts the account can have open at the same time. On EXL Flex 50K, it is 4 minis or 40 micros.
- Max Size
- 4 minis or 40 micros
- open at the same time
- Equivalence
- 1 mini = 10 micros
- to add up exposure
- In the funded account
- 4 minis or 40 micros
- the same limit as the evaluation
Why it exists
The limit keeps position size in proportion to the account. That way, no single trade decides your result, and what shows is your method, not a bet.
How minis and micros add up
- The limit is the combined exposure: each mini counts as 10 micros.
- You can trade only minis, only micros or a mix of both, as long as the total fits within the limit.
- What counts is the total open at the same time, adding up every contract in the account.
- Closed a position? That room goes back to the limit.
Example
On the 50K, the limit is 4 minis or 40 micros. If you open 1 mini, it already takes up 10 micros of the limit. The rest can be used for minis or micros, up to the total.
Trading at the limit
Being exactly at Max Size is allowed: it's the account's maximum. What you can't do is go over it. Always keep your exposure within the limit, including when you add up entries in different instruments.
What about EXL Career?
In EXL Career, each level has its own Max Size, which grows with the level.
